Many don't realize how easy it is to make their own non-toxic and safe products that only requires a few ingredients. A lot of people spend a fortune on skin care products that claim to perform miracles.  Many times these products not only contain harmful chemicals but they are also very expensive.

I like to make my own skin and body care products that are quick and easy to make and don't require a lot of ingredients. My 10 year old daughter loves to help me, and  I feel better knowing that my daughter is not exposed to artificial and hormone disrupting chemicals.

Essential oils can easily be incorporated into any base cream, lotion, and ointments. They  are very suitable for skin care. I make my own facial toners, ointments, creams, antioxidant serums, and massage blends

Essential oils have many powerful properties that make them very useful in skin care. Many essential oils are antiseptic, and these oils have historically been used for acne and other common skin infections. Other oils stimulate growth of new cells, and this will promote rapid healing of wounds and burns. It will also eliminate scarring. These cytophylactic oils have traditionally been used to maintain a healthy and youthful complexion, as well as  minimize stretch marks.

Several oils are anti-inflammatory and often used in skin care. Essential oils with anti-allergenic properties have also been used in the treatment of dermatitis. Some oils regulate the sebum production and are used to balance the secretion of the glands.

As you can see, you can easily customize your own skin care regime by choosing the essential oils that benefit your skin the best.

Essential oils are very versatile and one bottle can be used for many things. I can use the same essential oil for my skin care as well as for cleaning and healing. My whole family can benefit from the same bottle, even though the original purpose of the oil was to make my own facial products. Essential oils are more potent than herbs so a little goes a long way. Using essential oils is actually very cost effective in the long run.
