Make Your Own Deodorant With A Few Ingredients

6:48 AM Posted by Jo Pedranti

It is very easy to make your own non-toxic deodorant sprays. Commercial deodorants contain harmful ingredients that are devastating to your health. Many contain aluminum that damages the brain, and synthetic estrogen that has been linked to cancer. With a few ingredients like essential oils, witch hazel, herbal infusions, and apple cider vinegar, you can make your own deodorants. Best of all, you can use the ingredients for many other homemade body care products as well.

Here are some quick and easy recipes for deodorant sprays.

Deodorant Spray
1/2 ounce of apple cider vinegar
3 ounces distilled water
1 teaspoon witch hazel
30 drops of essential oils of your own choice
or use:

soothing:
15 drops lavender, 10 drops geranium, and 5 drops R. Chamomile
or
relaxing:
15 drops bergamot, 7 drops lavender, and 7 drops marjoram
or
invigorating:
15 drops lemon, 10 drops pine, and 5 drops frankincense

fruity:
10 drops orange
5 drops lemon
10 drops mandarin
5 drops grapefruit

Deodorant Spray 2
1/2 ounce distilled water
1/4 teaspoon witch hazel
8 drops of essential oils of your choice
or use:
2 drops each of thyme linalol, lemon, bergamot, lavender

Good oils to use are bergamot, clary sage, eucalyptus, lavender, lemon, lemongrass, grapefruit, mandarin, neroli, patchouli, sandalwood, peppermint (low dilution), petitgrain, pine, rosemary and tea tree.

Homemade deodorants make great gifts that you easily can make for several persons and only use a few ingredients. If you would like to add a more masculine touch to the deodorants you can add more masculine notes like cedarwood, cinnamon, frankincense, marjoram, peppermint, bay, pine, cardamon, myrrh, juniper, and ginger for example.
