We like to decorate the house with gingerbread cookies that we make ourselves. Some years we decorate the cookies with frosting, but honestly I like them better when they are plain looking. We re- use ribbons that we saved from last years presents. I don't know about you, but I re-use ribbons, wrapping paper, and gift boxes that we get from gifts each year. My mother-in-law thought it was little strange the first Christmas I was married, that I saved all the nice gift boxes and bows. Today it is more common to re-cycle and re-use.
My loyal helpers, Alex and Paola made the dough and the cookies as usual. Recipe will be posted next week.
We hang them in the tree.
We hang them on the ceiling fan.
On the wall.
We hang them on the mantel.
Here is another picture of the mantel. Doesn't it look pretty with some gingerbread hearts hanging from the greens?
We eat them when we have our advent fika late afternoon. The coffee is freshly ground, organic and fair trade.
